What helps with nausea on Foundayo?

1Smaller meals, eaten more slowly. A stomach emptying at half speed cannot take a normal-sized plate.
2Stopping at the point of fullness rather than at the end of the plate — the signal arrives earlier than it used to.
3Less fat and less fried food, which are the slowest things to leave the stomach.
4Holding at the current dose for another four weeks instead of stepping up. This is a conversation with the prescriber and it is the standard answer, not a failure.

A tablet rather than an injection, and the same class effects: the route changes, the stomach does not. In the two trials 8% stopped because of side effects, against 3% on placebo, 5% of them because of gastrointestinal ones. Nausea, vomiting and diarrhea were more common during dose escalation and decreased over time. Above 5.5 mg every step is optional, taken on response and tolerability, so the pace is a conversation with the prescriber rather than a reason to quit unannounced.

Orforglipron is not pharmacologically active in rats or mice and did not produce tumors in rodents; because it is active at the human GLP-1 receptor, the label says the human relevance of those rodent tumors has not been determined. It is contraindicated outright with a personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN 2.
