    Novo Nordisk terminates collaboration with Hims & Hers Health, Inc.

    Novo Nordisk ended the Wegovy partnership it had announced with Hims & Hers less than two months earlier, saying the company had failed to adhere to the law prohibiting mass sales of compounded drugs under the guise of personalization, and was disseminating deceptive marketing that put patient safety at risk. Novo said the semaglutide active ingredient sold by telehealth sellers and compounding pharmacies is made by foreign suppliers whose processes the FDA has never authorized or approved, many never inspected by the agency.

    Where it stands: Partnership terminated June 2025. Novo then sued Hims for patent infringement in February 2026 (D. Del. No. 1:26-cv-00143) and voluntarily dismissed the case on 9 March 2026.

FDA had already written to Hims on 9 September 2025 that calling its compounded semaglutide “Same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy” and “Clinically proven ingredients” was false or misleading.
